India win 5 more gold to finish campaign with 28 medals at U-15 Asian Wrestling Championships India’s superb show continued on the last day of the Under-15 Asian Wrestling Championships in Taichung, China as they added five gold medals as well as five silver medals to finish their campaign on a high with a rich haul of 28 medals, that includes 13 gold, 14 silver and 1 bronze. The performance also ensured that India finish with the maximum number of gold medals in the championship. Led by 2019 Cadet World Championships bronze medallist Deepak Chahal, the freestyle grapplers continued their heroics to capture four gold medals on the final day of the competition. While Chahal won the gold in 75kg, Haryana’s Vishal (62kg), Sonipat’s Sagar Jaglan (68kg), & Madhya Pradesh’s Jatin (85kg) were the others who finished on the top podium. Senior National Wrestling Championships 2019: 5 member team announced by Nagaland for Jalandhar Nationals Five freestyle wrestlers of the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) is all set to partake in the 64th Men Freestyle, Greco Roman Style and 22nd Women  Senior National Wrestling Championships  schedule to be held at  PAP Complex, Jalandhar, Punjab from November 28 to December 1. The Championship is being organized by the Punjab Wrestling Association (PWA) under the aegis of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). Four Wrestlers namely Keduovilie Zumu-97 Kg, Megosier Khate-92 Kg, Thechamo Murry-65 Kg and Kaisiwang Nring-61 Kg left for Dimapur this evening after short briefing in the NWA Office, Kohima. With no signs of the PWL 2019 edition, it is certain that the competition now cannot and will not take place before the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games next year.           UWW Ranking Series : Major change in weighing-in rule in Rome, check what it is ? The global governing body of the sport of wrestling United World Wrestling (UWW) has decided to introduce a major change for the year 2020 first ranking series event in Rome.    The said change will impact the participating wrestles in a big way. According to the information with WrestlingTV.in, in the January Ranking Series event in Rome (Italy), the weighing-ins for the wrestlers will be done in the morning of the event instead of one day prior to the event. This means now the weigh-in will happen between 8 to 9 AM at Rome ranking series event and post that the draws will be released. The competition in the said event will start everyday at 10.30 AM.

Greco-Roman wrestling world cup – Japan includes world champion Ota and Fumita in 12-man squad Tehran is all geared up for the Greco-Roman wrestling world cup on 28th November and Japan has announced there 12 member squad for the world cup. As expected both  Kenichiro Fumita  (60 kg, world no. 1) and  Shinobu Ota  are included in the Japanese squad. Fumita won his second Senior World title in September while Ota collected his first. Japan has qualified for the Greco-Roman world cup after a long gap of 25 years. The squad has been selected after WFI conducted trials for the hopefuls in Sonepat (Boys) and Lucknow (Girls).
