Full Result of Trials for Asian Olympic Qualifiers: Sakshi’s Olympic dreams ends; Sonam marches to Indian team

The trials for 62kg and 76kg women’s wrestling are being conducted today at SAI Centre, Lucknow for India’s entry in the next month’s Asian Olympic QualifiersSakshi, Sarita, Mansi and Sonam entered the semi-finals. 

Pooja Dhanda and Navjot Kaur saw an early exit from the trials after loosing to Sarita and Mansi respectively.
                                                        

FULL RESULTS of the Trials:

Women’s 62kg: 
Qualifications:Mansi in semi-finals after beating Anita 6-0 in the quarter-finals. She will now face Sakshi in the semi-finals.
Quarter-finals:Sarita Mor beat Pooja Dhanda by 3-2 in quarter-finals.
Sonam beat Radhika by 5-1 in quarter-finals. She now enters semi-finals and will play Sarita.
Navjot Kaur is out of the race after losing to Mansi 4-2.
Sakshi beats Seema 8-2.
Semi-finals:
Sonam beats Asian Championships gold medallist Sarita 3-1. She will now play in the final against Sakshi.
Sakshi beats Mansi 10-0 on technical superiority.
Finals:
Sonam beats Sakshi Malik 3-2 and seals berth for Asian Olympic Qualifiers.
Women’s 76kg:
Quater-finals:Sudesh beat Kavita 8-6.
Semi-finals:Gursharan Kaur beat Pinki 9-7. She now enters the finals where she will meet either Kiran or Sudesh.
Kiran beat Sudesh 7-0.
Finals:
Kiran beats Gursharan Kaur 4-2. Kiran is again the number one contender for India’s 76kg catergory.
Greco-Roman  60kg:
Semi-finals:
Gyanendra beat Manish by 6-0.
Vijay beat Sachin Rana by 6-1.
Finals:
Gyanendra proved his mettle once again in the trials. He defeated Vijay 4-1 and will be India’s official entry for the 60kg Greco-Roman category in Asian Olympic Qualifiers.
