Tampere, Finland to host U23 world wrestling championships in 2020


The host for the 4th edition of the UWW Under23 World Wrestling Championships will be the Nordic country, Finland. The championships will be played between 23rd Nov to 29th Nov in a small lake city of Finland called Tampere. 
 
Wrestling in Finland is one of the most followed sport and quite popular, especially the club wrestling. This will be the 4th edition of the U23 World wrestling championships. The previous editions have been hosted by all European nations. Poland hosted the inaugural edition of the championships, the 2018 edition host was Romania followed by Budapest, Hungary where the just concluded 3rd edition of the U23 world’s were hosted.

Meet Stepan Maryanyan, the Greco-Roman champion on mat and champion outside as well

Stepan Maryanyan from Russia has been one of the most dominant Greco-Roman wrestlers world over. Following his gold medal at the 2018 World Wrestling Championships, the Greco-Roman grappler was victorious in the 2019 European Championships, European Games and the prestigious Dan Kolov event. Stepan recently won a silver medal at the 2019 world championship in Nur-Sultan in 63kg weight category. But it wasn’t always so straight forward for the mercurial Russian.
