U23 World Championships: 30 member Indian squad announced for World Championship in Budapest

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has announced the Indian squad for the Under 23 World Championships 2019 starting in Budapest, Hungary from 28th October. As declared earlier by WFI, the performance at the recently held Tata Motors U23 National Championships at Shirdi has been considered in selection of the squad. All the selected wrestlers, apart from Viky in 92kg Freestyle category won the Gold Medal at the U23 National Championships in Shirdi. 
 India could muster only 1 medal at the last U23 World Championships in Bucharest, Romania in 2018. Ravi Dhaiya was the lone medal winner for India at the last world championship, but this time WFI is expecting better performance from the selected 30 member squad.WFI has also declared that preparatory camp for the U23 World Championship will start from Monday for both girls and boys in Lucknow & Sonepat respectively. The Indian squad will depart for Budapest on 26th Oct.
